Alicia Allain, Producer
Alicia Allain has more than 20 years of film and television industry experience, including 13 years in Los Angeles and seven years on location in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Arkansas, and overseas. She has worked in various capacities on over 30 films and her credits include Auto Focus and Bark!.
Allain has a proven record as a line producer, handling all aspects of film finance. Additionally, she has experience handling SAG, IATSE, and DGA guidelines and contracts, and has negotiated directly with unions. She also has experience in contract negotiation with agents and attorneys.
Outside of producing, Allain is former president of The Robert Evans Company. In this role, she oversaw the development and production of several independent films and worked on a broad range of projects. Projects which include collaboration with Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee on Foreverman and a romantic comedy based on a popular novel by Darcy Cosper, Wedding Season.
Finally, Allain is the founder of the Louisiana Film Fellowship program, designed to cultivate the film industry in Louisiana and provide young filmmakers with training and on-set experience.
Tom Reed, Producer
Tom Reed began his studio career 20 years ago with Walt Disney/Touchstone Pictures. There, he ran the office of administration for the Motion Picture Creative Group under Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Hoberman. Reed’s first executive role was with Lansdowne Films at Fox Films, where he worked with director Jonathan Lynn on My Cousin Vinnie. Next, Reed worked as Vice President of Development for Ron Howard and Brian Grazer at Imagine Entertainment, where he worked on such projects as The Nutty Professors, Liar, Liar, and Curious George. Reed’s first producer credit was on the film Bark! with Alicia Allain. Recently, Reed has been working with three independent film companies: Highware Films, Loaded Features, and Winginit Productions.
Jason A. Waggenspack, Producer/Production Manager
Jason A. Waggenspack is a native of Baton Rouge, and received his B.S. in Film, Theatre and Communication Arts from the University of New Orleans. He has 9 years of industry experience working with companies such as Paramount Pictures, IMG, Swift River, GMC, Pontiac, Chevrolet, HGTV, Mojo Tooth Productions, G3 Films, Quat Media, Planet Beach, Yellowtail, WDSU and many others.
Jason’s skill set and talents range from Producer, Co-Director, Line Producer, UPM, Editor, and Camera Operator to Production Assistant. He has been involved in projects such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Father of Invention, Flip Mavens, Henry Rollins Uncut from New Orleans, Destination Design, Puzzle Vision, Girls Gone Gangsta, and Angels Die Slowly.
In 2007 Jason founded Neutral Ground Films LLC and has since produced pilots for two series set in New Orleans: the sit-com Below Sea Level and the spaghetti western A Man Called Trouble, as well as many other projects. In 2008 he joined 9th Ward Studios, a partnership to rehabilitate the oldest standing film studio and sound stage in New Orleans.
Jason D. Buch, Writer/Development
Jason D. Buch is a writer/producer/director based out of New Orleans, LA. He received his B.S. in Computer Science in 1999 from the University of South Florida and his M.F.A. in Film, Theatre and Communications Arts, with a focus on Screenwriting, in May of 2008 from the University of New Orleans.
Jason served as an Associate Producer on the 2007 Telly award winning PBS documentary American Creole: New Orleans Reunion, as a Producer on Air Racers – a multi-screen, multimedia experience for the Louisiana State Museum, and as an Associate Producer on the recent Louisiana Public Broadcasting Co-production Harvest to Restore. During his time at UNO, Jason served as an instructor teaching Introduction to Screenwriting. He currently has several scripts in development
Cathy Twigg-Blumel, Producer/Development
Cathy Twigg-Blumel is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After graduating from LSU with a BA in Creative Writing/Film, she went on to the graduate program in Screenwriting at UCLA. She has worked in the entertainment industry for the past 9 years. While working for such companies as MTV Films, New Crime Productions (John Cusack’s company), Dreamworks, Sony Pictures and NBC Television she has developed a well-rounded knowledge of both film and television development and production. She has been involved on such films as Varsity Blues, Election, Dead Man on Campus, 200 Cigarettes, The Wood, The Love Letter, Requiem For A Dream, Tigerland, Slap Her, She’s French, Bubble Boy, ‘Til Human Voices Wake Us, Date School, The Jack Bull and Arigo. And such television shows and pilots as DAG, The Andrew Kennedy Project and Uncommon Sense. She also wrote and directed the short film My Perfect Wedding. Her experience and lasting relationships make her an invaluable member of our team.
Sean J. Donnelly, Producer/Development
As production supervisor for Paramount’s Specialty Division, Sean Donnelly is responsible for (among others) assets, picture cars, product placement, and safety for all Paramount “Specialty Division” Films. Current films include the Coen Brothers’ NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, Paul Thomas Anderson’s THERE WILL BE BLOOD, an UNTITLED NOAH BAUMBACH feature, a Pastor Brothers Film, and YEAR OF THE DOG by Mike White. Also responsible for all office inner-workings, including office space, all supplies, office equipment, and distribution of all necessary paperwork for all productions.
Prior to his position at Paramount, Donnelly worked as an assistant to writer/directors Jonas and Josh Pate on their NBC series Surface. Duties included but weren’t limited to: writers’ asst., researcher, script coordinator (pilot), clearances (pilot), assistant to the Director (pilot), assisted in full staffing for season one, and provided creative input for first season arcs for Surface.
Donnelly has also worked with Propaganda Films as an assistant to a producer and thereby worked on several sets including The Badge, Bark!, and Auto Focus.
